Q: John (L.A.) Detroit looked sluggish and out of sorts in Game 4. At -150 in Game 5 are we looking at a new series? R: josh This series has turned into which team will take advantage of the other in the home arena. Obviously the Red Wings are on the defensive coming back to home cooking. I just can't see how Detroit will nix this one up despite the -150 mark. They don't have that option at this point. Check out Judd Hall's picks on Vegasinsider.com for the most in-depth look. Q: Tim (D.C.) My home town Nationals are -110 against the Mets tonight. What are we looking at and does Sharion Martis help with cashing in for the home town crew? R: josh I can say that I'm on the 'over' in this one at a current 10 runs. Martis is 5-1 in his last nine starts but we can't forget about giving up an average of 5.7 runs per game in the last three starts. Sprinkle some Tim Redding onto this talk (giving up 5.2 runs per game in the last five) and we get the public perception play with the 'over'. I'll go out on the line and say the Mets take out your Nationals team with room to spare on the run line. But at close to an even return I'll play New York on the money. Q: Pete - Tacoma Any "hot" plays or tips on totals in baseball tonight? R: josh Sure. As I mentioned, I like the public 'over' play in the Nats-Mets game tonight. Also eyeing the 'under' in the notorious Padres-Dbacks game and the 'over' in the Cubs-Reds contest. At nine total runs, the 'under' run for both teams should come to an end tonight. Check out the totals trends both teams as there's a lot of 'under' situations. Just can't see Owings having a good outing tonight. |
