Q: Tim (Vegas) Braves looks easy tonight -- your thoughts please, need a hammer play.
R: briane I do like the Braves tonight. In fact, I like fading the Nats EVERY night.

Q: Philly Phil What the hell's wrong w/ my team? How are they letting these guys hang around in the NL East? Who eventually wins this division?
R: briane Phil: Two things stand out -- Jimmy Rollins is playing like a total scrub and the Phillies are 13-22 at home. That's atrocious! Fortunately, they have been outstanding on the road. Hard to say who wins the loop until we see what teams make the boldest moves at the trade deadline.

Q: Cav Fan With all the moves in the offseason so far, who has made out the best? Was the Shaq deal a good one for the Cavs?
R: briane We've certainly seen a lot of shake-up in the personnel department around the league in the last 72 hours and there's still quite a bit more to come. To me, the Spurs have been the big winners and assuming their core nucleus is healthy, I think they are now the favorites to win it all next year. T-Parker, T-Duncan, RJ, Ginobli and then the youngsters DeJuan Blair and an explosive scorer in Jack McClinton. I'm really taking a wait-and-see approach to two deals -- and those are Shaq to the Cavs and Vince Carter to the Magic. I think both moves could go either way. I wouldn't be surprised if they both turn out to be great deals but on the the other hand, when you change a bunch of parts and add different styles, etc., you never know how the chemistry is going to work/develop....so we'll see. Obviously, I think Portland pulls a huge score by inking Hedo Turkoglu. The addition of Ron Artest instead of Trevor Ariza for the Lakers could be a golden move. Then again, you never know with Artest. I love the way he plays. He's got a nasty streak and FEARS nobody and is much more skilled offensively than he gets credit for. We'll see how he mixes with his new 'mates. I like the Hawks getting Jamal Crawford. Sekou Smith's blog in the AJC yesterday seemed to indicate that he felt there was a good chance Atlanta was going to get Mike Bibby re-signed (which probably means Flip Murray bolts since the Hawks drafted Jeff Teague). We'll see if GM Rick Sund can get Zaza Pachulia back, which will be key. Crawford gives Atlanta another scorer to take some of the load off of Joe Johnson.

Q: James (Jacksonville) Who wins the ACC in football this year? What coaches are on hte biggest hot seasts in 20089?
R: briane James Typos: I'll go with Ga. Tech in a balanced league that has at least seven teams capable of winning it. I just love Paul Johnson. Nine starters back on offense -- Jonathan Dwyer is a sleeper Heisman candidate in my mind. Va. Tech will be good but I question whether or not Tyrod Taylor is ever going to be effective in the passing game. FSU should be pretty good, but I'm still not sold on Christian Ponder. UNC has a shot for sure.

Hot Seats:

1-Charlie Weis (Notre Dame)

2-Randy Shannon (Miami)

3-Al Groh (Virginia)

4-Rich Rodriguez (Michigan)

5-Mike Sherman (Texas A&M)

I'm probably leaving an obvious one or two out but I'll go with those off the top of my head.

Rodriguez will be two-and-done like Billy Gillispie at Kentucky in hoops if he doesn't get the Wolverines to at least seven wins.

Q: Cav Fan With all the moves in the offseason so far, who has made out the best? Was the Shaq deal a good one for the Cavs?
R: briane If Favre's healthy, the Vikings are certainly legit contenders to win it all. I like the Eagles' chances, too. Pittsburgh will definitely be in the mix again. But I have to go with the Pats. Like I've said a million times in football, the two biggest ingredients for a great football team is coaching and QB play. And in Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, New England has the best in the NFL at both spots. Give me the Pats to hoist the Lombardi Trophy - again.

Allright, folks. Not too many questions today as I'm sure many of you are on the road for the holiday weekend or sitting by a pool somewhere enjoying libations. Good luck with your bets this weekend! If you get bored, feel free to check out my latest college football column on VI. Over and out...

Q: Martin (SoCal) Who takes this year's Super Bowl? My Vikings w/ Brett Favre?
R: briane Woops, that last answer was supposed to be to this question. Thanks, folks. I'm outta here...
