Q: big winner 2 quickies for ya: first, what is your opinion on hedging bets? with a line like the Pitt line that began at -2 and is now plus 6, it is conceivable to say that a smart gambler could jump on that Pitt line when it came out on Monday, and then throw down on the underdog with a plus 6? Second question refers to "sharp money" and what size of a bet is considered sharp? Thanks for your time...
R: briane Good Afternoon folks

We got a late scratch this afternoon...Brian Edwards' Internet went down due to a storm, so I'll (Chris David) will be trying to help out!

Big Winner

Public right now is all over Pittsburgh and the line move is evident, plus the bad weather has watched the total come down to 45 from 50.

No real opinion on the game to be honest with you...

Q: Tom (Chicago) Hi BE. Would you play Lions on ML this week? I am willing to throw a few hundred bucks on each of the following ML dogs: Chiefs Ravens Cardinals Broncos Giants Which one is looking like a clear winner in your opinion?
R: briane I don't like the Lions in particular only because their defense is awful. They've given up 48 and 45 on the road and Culpepper won't have any weapons (CJ) to help him out this weekend. I do think the double-digit dogs will do well this week but find the ones that play defense first!

Q: Luis Hey Brian, I have a few NFL plays that I'd like to hear your opinion: I love New Orleans at home, like the Skins to cover 6, and I think Baltimore will lose again this week because that team is overrated. What's your take on these plays?
R: briane Hi Luis

Here are my thoughts on Washington. They're 2-3, the offense is horrible at times but they've been in every game folks. The three losses came by 6, 5 and 3. They're a competitive football team, even though the coach blows and the QB is average at best, they are in games.

Now, looking at the Chiefs....everybody and their mother is on this team and this team BLOWS. Seriously, they lost to Dallas at home in OT, a game that shouldn't have went to OT. The defense gave up 500 yards, plus Dallas had 13 penalties and turned it over 3 times.

Don't buy into this Chiefs team folks at all, they're not good.

Redskins 27 Chiefs 13

Q: Morristown What is your lock of the weekend? Pro or College?
R: briane Pro it's Washington...College it's Notre Dame

Q: teddyman1972@yahoo.com BE, are you sold on this Panthers laying less than a TD on the road tonight? My biggest play of the week is Steelers -13.5 and Oakland +14.5
R: briane Carolina is another team that I don't think is as bad as its 1-3 record. I won't lay the points on the road in this spot. I think Oakland, dare I say it, has a serious shot to cover the number.

Q: Wayne (OH) I like Gators and Alabama this week to lay the points. In NFL, Titans will finally win a game right?
R: briane Gators could be in for a letdown against Arkansas. I won't play that and I think SC steps up in class. I wouldn't play the Titans either, the secondary is shot and Brady might dice it up for once. Weather is up in the air for the Northeast.

Q: Ken Anderson Longhorns looks like clear winner tomorrow along with Gators. I also like Nebraska in this spot because Texas Tech's main QB not suiting up tomorrow. Have fun Brian.
R: briane Be careful with Texas tomorrow. Okie has two losses but both by one-point each. Bradford and Stoops like to spoil the party when nobody expects it.

Q: Compton Will the ball be flying out of the park in Dodger stadium today? 9 runs is alot !
R: briane U tell me Compton? It looked like an 'under' last night before the three homers. Padilla has been lights out lately and Pedro is a postseason gamer. Wouldn't be surprised to see a low-scoring affair.

Q: Chris Cash, (Palm Harbor) Hey Chris, I have to ask about what I see as a huge lock this week. I am a huge Gergia Tech fan and a great ACC and SEC sports capper. Being a Tech fan I see no way our rebuilding Defense can prevent VA Tech from scoring less than 31. Our passing game is to poor to keep up with this many points against VA Tech's "D". Even with our great running attack I see 17-24 points max by GA Tech. with Nesbitt throwing a couple of picks. VA Tech -3 or better for the easy cover???
R: briane Hi Chris

The ACC has been a complete toss-up for me this year. I'm still not sold on VT and GT is hit or miss with the attack. I don't like Taylor at all and Nesbitt isn't much better. If VT wins, they get into the ACC Championship. The 'under' might be worth a look after watching both teams light up the scoreboard last weekend.

Q: Garvin (Huntington Beach) MNF, will the Chargers be dominant in any way or do the Broncos look to stay undefeated?
R: briane I'm not sold on Denver either. The sharps bet the game down and if they win here, very impressive. The Chargers haven't played a great game yet and should be ready off a bye.

Q: Paul Will the weather effect the total for tonight's college game? I love Over 45....The weather is not favorable though it does not justify the drop in the line which has seen the number plummet from 49.5 to as low as 44.5. Conditionsa call for 40 degrees with a 60% chance of showers with winds at 14mph; not enough to stop the teams from completing balls through the air. Pitt/Under?
R: briane Hi Paul

I would take a stab with the over but Rutgers has no passing attack at all. They run, run and run more. You better hope they get touchdowns in this spot. Perhaps wait for 45 then hope for a 21-21, worst case push.

Q: wayne(mobile How is it going today David.Hope you are having a great day. I am wondering what you think about the Alabama and the Auburn game. The 14 points auburn is giving up is too much. \ \\thanks
R: briane The backup on Kentucky wasn't too shabby last week against SC and he'll play this week against Auburn, who was exposed against Arkansas.

Alabama has been solid ATS, but I'd lean to Spurrier here, who is 2-0 against Saban in his career.
